THERESA O'ROURKE NUGENT, of counsel, is a litigator, patent prosecutor and transactional lawyer and has handled patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret issues as in-house counsel and in private practice.

Ms. Nugent has expertise in patent and trademark prosecution in the US and abroad, EPO Oppositions, and providing clearance, invalidity and non-infringement opinions in the areas of chemistry, mechanical devices, and laser devices.

Ms. Nugent also drafts and negotiates all types of research and commercial agreements pertaining to R&D, licensing, technology transfer, software, EULA, tolling, and other various supplier and vendor agreements. Ms. Nugent presently provides litigation support and has tried numerous cases to verdict in the federal and state courts. Ms. Nugent is also an adjunct professor and a former Assistant County Attorney in the Litigation Department.

Ms. Nugent earned her B.A. in economics and communications from the College of Mt. St. Vincent. Ms. Nugent earned her J.D. at the Albany Law School of Union University. She further earned an A.S. in engineering sciences from the State University of New York.
